TINNITUS THERAPY

WHAT IS TINNITUS?

Tinnitus is typically experienced as high-pitched or low-pitched ringing. This noise can affect one or both ears with varying volumes. Approximately, 20% of the population experience either temporary or constant tinnitus.

WHAT CAUSES TINNITUS?

There are numerous causes of tinnitus, such as neurological, hearing impairments (past damage/ trauma via loud sounds, ear infections, Meniere’s disease, tumors, blood vessel disease, hormonal changes), cervical (neck), stress issues, medication side effects can be causes for this condition. 

HOW CAN PHYSICAL THERAPY HELP WITH TINNITUS?

We take an individualized approach to the factors contributing to each client’s tinnitus. Stress management, dry needling, accommodation techniques are some of the common approaches that can help alleviate symptoms. You can also ask your physician about medications, counseling, hearing aids (to mask or change neural inputs), imaging or other medical options.
